Prof. Andres Cantarero, University of Valencia, SpainAndrés Cantarero is currently a Full Professor of condensed matter physics with the University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain, where he is with the Molecular Science Institute and the Applied Physics Department. After his Ph.D. degree, he spent two years at the Max-Planck Institute for Solid State Physics, Stuttgart, Germany, as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where he came back several times as a Visiting Professor. He organized several schools and conferences. He is a coauthor of around 330 publications and three book chapters. He holds three patents. He was a principal investigator of more than 20 national projects, three European projects, and several local projects. His main field of research has been optical spectroscopy studies of semiconductor nanostructures, mainly the Raman spectroscopy. He developed several phenomenological models on the Raman spectroscopy and lattice dynamics and, more recently, using density functional theory. He has also been working on transport and magnetic properties of solids. His main interests nowadays are thermoelectric materials, an exciting topic within energy harvesting. |
